Hexfire Battlebox inbound

Well Yesterday Warhammer Community released the info on the upcoming Grey Knight vs Thousand Sons battlebox.

No previously they released images of the Crowe model and I have been waiting for the box announcement to make my final decision.

During the original preview I was looking for someone in my group to split the models with. I had potentialy found someone but we were waiting for the release to make our decision. Years of playing Space Wolves makes me really hate Thousand Sons (sorta like my hatred of Orks being a Crimson Fist player) so collecting a Thousand Sons army was a no go.  So I am 50/50 on getting the box.

Crowe after seeing the model....yeah still not sure it depends whats in the box. Hopefully they change his rules as he currently is the ONLY Model with a CCW in the entire Grey Knight Codex. So I am at 50/50 on the box still.

What's in the box for Grey Knights? 10 Power Armored Marines to make 1 10man or 2 5 man Squads of  Strike Marines/ Purifiers / Interceptor/ Purgation. 1 Nemesis Dreadknight/ Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight. And Cowe.....

VS

an Infernal master, 5 Sacarb Occult Terminators, 10 Tzangors and a Tzangor Shaman.....

So Grey Knights are known for their use of  Terminator armor. Thosand Sons are known for the All is Dust Rubric Marines.

So after seeing the box, I am not getting it. I'll pick up Crowe if I find him cheap enough and probably the rules off of ebay. But hard pass otherwise.

Now this I will be buying, well the Grey Knight one.

Manic Monday # 38

I have made progress.......Kinda of.

Thursday I worked and did very little modeling and more playing with my Tiny Marines from TapthatGame1 on Etsy.

Fellblade

Proteus Land Raiders

Marine to knight scale

Marien in Reaver Fist

Heavy Weapons

Assault marines

Dreadnoughts

FW Volkite

 River bed painted.

Friday I decided to start the basing with tile grout. Unfortunatly my PVA Glue/ Water mix was more water than expected....

Overall happy for round one.

I then met with Entropmancer and Dropped off some of the Titianicus stuff I had for him. Then went to a new gaming store called Gamer's Guild AZ. I have gone to a lot of good gaming stores and some that are bad. I judge a store by the staff, stock and gaming area. First impressions was good. Large gaming area, Friendly staff, and good stock.  I purchased another Starter for Adeptus Titanicus so more Reavers, Warhounds, and knights

After I got home I worked on my bases by increase glue to the mixture and coated bases again.

For some reason the 2nd coat dried a different color, kinda of like.  It gives a more realistic feel.

Saturday morning I got up and rattle canned models Leadblecher.

With working a 12 hr Saturday night and rain all day Sunday I was motiviated to vegitate on the couch and watch season 5 part 2 of Lucifer....

Looking at all the Titanicus models I currently have:

Warmaster - Ordered

Warlord- 2 (one of each weapon loadout)

Nemesis Warbringer-

Reavers- 6 (3 of each loadout)

Wahounds- 6

Plus all the knights

I have enough to do a 2nd legio. Which will be Legio Crucius:

I will probably build this a Precpt Maniple with the Warmaster as a Support Titan but I'll be able to run different Maniples.

Manic Monday #37

Wow, what a build weekend! I really enjoy building the models for Adeptus Titanicus. I feel like each Model is a unique character so basing them is a blast.

  • Thursday I spent working on gathering up the final few pieces for my Legio Gryphonicus.
  • Friday I started building the skeletons and and bases for the Warhounds, Reaver #1 and Lancers
  • Saturday I built the 3 Questoris Knights and bases, and started working on Reaver # 2's base.
  • Sunday I built Reaver #2's skeleton, and the weapons for Reaver #1 and the Warhounds.

Basing I used Civitas Imperialis buildings I sawed to make ruins, thin plastic card to make a base my standard rock and sand ballast for ruins along with cut sprue to build height to the ruins. Green stuff was added to create dunes, larger rocks, mesas and to smooth out the corkboard. I used some 24 gauge florist wire to create barb wire.

Next weekend I'll be working on the basesby priming buildings and the wash on  Reaver #1's base then PVA glue/ Water mix,  add tile grout as the base, and then a 2nd layer of PVA water mix and Agrellan Earth in the wash. After that has fully dried wash base with agrax earthshade (buildings too), and drybrush with a light brown (zandri dust?).Hopefully I will be able to prime the Titans and Knights too, weather permitting.

Enough talk, picture time
