Manic Monday # 57

So long time no post.....life went a little off for a bit. Holidays and all the emotions that those are filled with and just a lack of overall holiday spirit. I was able to reconnect with some old friends...which helped enhance my mood.

Weekend of December 10th- Well I did pick my preorders/ Ordes finally and while hanging out in local Warhamer Store, I purchased a Thunderhawk....for Aeronautic Imperalis. But this is 1 of 2 (or 3) Thunderhawks, I have planned for my collection.

While joking around at the store, I was asked what army is it for and said my Grey Knights. I  few of the locals said they will let me use it as a Thunderhawk in normal games....gonna be odd cause of the lack of Footprint, but why not.

On the 11th I decided to go out and play paintball with my friends and celebrate the live of those we lost over the years. And then I was informed we are playing in a tournment series starting in January. Well that measn more practices.  So last weekend (not christmas weekend) and the next 3 weekends will be Paintball related as i have scrimmages set up for the next 2 weekends with the 3rd week being the tournment.

Well this weekend I had to get a some modeling done for The Warhammer Goodyear Necromunda Campaign start first of January. So I spent Wednesday 12/22 figuirng out my list and and building said models. Well there is 28 players and 6-7 are taking enforcers.....suck on bomb rats. Still tossing the idea between Cawdor or Redemptionist.

but by Friday 12/23 here is where my Necromunda forces sat as being recently built

While watching the Batman Returns friday Evening I built my Thunderhawk.

Christmas night  I decided to start a project I was dreading. my Grey Knight Objective Counters

WORST KIT EVER- small attachment points. unclear instructions a true nightmare to build...perfect for lesser daemons breacking the warp.

Sunday Morning I sat on the couch watching Ronin and started building a list around Ordo Malleus Inquistor, his retinue, and his inquistorial Stormtroopers.

Now I hate the heads on the Militarum Tempestus models, so I ordered alternative heads for them.

I will probably be ordering these from Pop Goes the Monkey

The list will have My Ordo Malleus Terminator Inquistor Lord, 6 Acolytes, Astropath, Tempestor Prime, Command squad with dual plasma, 3 Squads wiht various loadouts of Militarium Tempestus, Commissar, Tech Priest Engineseer, Eversor Assassin, and Vendetta. I'm tradimg my buddy Entropmancer the unbuilt Chaos half of Shadow Spear (I have not intention of building) for unbuilt Tech Preist Engineseer and a box of Militarum Tempestus. I need to order a Start Collecting Militarum Tempest box, Valkyrie, FW Vendetta upgrade and Wheel upgrade for Taurox.

Since I hate the plastic Commissar I purchased this model to represent my Commissar.

And then I started painting yesterday afternoon and only got 3 layers of Andrea Miniatures red base color on the models.

Project idea

So one of the things Entropmancer and I are trying to do with our group is having Objective Counters for each army.

My Raptors 10th Company/ Scout Company are using the Terminator Teleport Beacons as a relay station.

My Mortifactors 3rd Company will be using Skulls from Ebay seller JesusGold7 as seen below

My Order of the Valorous Heart Adepta Sororitas I currently have no clue.

My 7th Brotherhood of Grey Knights I have been thinking of using spare bits and different things but it does not feel right. I started looking at other models in the GW range focusing on models on 40mm or larger bases. then I saw the Night Haunt Spirit Host models. 3 Models not badly priced and on 50 MM bases.

So the goal is to remove weapons and paint them up as Undivided Daemons coming through a warp breech. Which means they will work for my Exorcists too.

Manic Monday #5

So time for my Monday Raptors update.

Painted the weapons casings:

Then started painting White, Red, Green, and Brown (tan). The tan  took forever.

and then finally started the black boots and hair and ran out of steam.

Friday I meet a friend at the GW Store between us and gave him his half of the incursors, and a bunch of militarum tempestus scions, taroxs, and valkyrie that was missing pieces that i received in trade that i was never gonna use. I did get a crashed aquila lander and pewter cawdor gang. Should put me over 70 Cawdor minituares in pewter.

Saturday I preordered Indomintus, combat guage, cards, Chapter Approved and Crusade Journal through GW. So Ill have all those on the release day.

It has begun.....

Deathwatch build has officially begun.....

Parts are consistently arriving from all the crap I ordered recently....but most importantly was the Shapeways order from Pop Goes the Monkey for more chapter Shoulder pads and my guns for the Jokaero. I still have a bunch of stuff coming in plus I ordered more Shoulder pads and bits today.

I finally started working on models this weekend. I set up Kill Team "Saber" into the parts bin to make it easier to work on them. I ran out of hobby time and was not able to pull the shoulder pads I just received into the bins yet. I did find a good substitute CCW weapon for the Flesh Tearer......Cataphracti Chain Axe and I decided he will get the bare head for the squad.

Next I started working on the Razorback "Long Sword" with the Forgeworld Twin Linked Lasscannons. I'm in love with the razorback conversions from FW and ended up building the twin linked Heavy Bolter Variant also. I think I think I will eventually buy the Multi Melta, Twin Linked Assault cannon, Lascannon/ Twin Plasma gun Variants for both Razorbacks just to have variety.  So I built it to point where it was just a mock up of how it would look, and actually it is all built now with doors glued in place. I did not glue the copulas, for razorblack plate in so i can switch to a rhino as needed.

Then I began mocking up the Jokaero (and today the 40k FAQ dropped so now I have to change my list since I can not take an Inquisitor in my detachment....yet).

I cut the square peg off  Storm Raven Gunner/ Servitor and added the back end of the HK tube as a spacer/ belt, the sensor is the sensor for the HK mounted to the front of the HK Launcher which will be the base mounted to the Epic scale Land Raider. Still lots of plasticard  work to do such as, fill the  bottom of the land raider to cover gap, fill in lascannon mount points build actuators for the base to body (like shown above on the Exorcist Loader servitor) and the gun arm. ordered some random Ad Mech parts for it to make it more Servitor like too.

I began looking at my Priests and the stormbolters I ordered for them and I am not happy using the priests for them. Trying to get OOP Wargames Factory Shock Troopers for my acolytes.

I may have to cut and them at the ankles and lower them but they should work better. I'm gonna give them various Games Workshop heads (Fallegants, Glade Guard hooded, Cadian heads), Militarum Tempestus arms converted to hold the storm bolters, various 40k bits (pouches, holsters, icons) to make them more unique and to hide what they were or attempt too.

While Joking around with a friend and as we both were searching ebay for stiff getting listed due to the FAQ killing Spam and soup lists I saw something and went "hmmmmm objective counters for my DW maybe....."

The little girl in the blue dress with the revolver

If I remove the pistol and use the variant non helmeted head, I have this creepy little girl that comes in a pack of 3....2 packs makes 6 objectives.....and then I hear this creepy little girls voice say...."You're all going to die down here."

Perfect for my Deathwatch Kill Teams to deal with from the Inquisitor they are attached to.

Imperial Fist Spy and Objective Counters

Double Post Friday

So as a distraction from working on just my Imperial Fist Primaris Marines army, I am working on my Objective Counters and Spy for 8th edition.

I keep jumping between ideas for my objective counters for the 3rd Company but after looking at this image I decided on what I am doing:

Servo Skulls as my Objective Counters. Considering the fluff of the Imperial Fist scrimshawing bones of  their deceased brothers servos skulls makes sense. I have a four from my Grey Knights and one from my Deathwatch. I will be getting some from friends (about 3 or so servo skulls if not more) so I have a variety of them. At one point I thought lets add the number of servo skulls that each counter represents but I don't want to have buy another 13 as they are not cheap on ebay. I will be suspending the with brass to have them floating off the ground and paint the number they represent on the dirt in brown.

Imperial Fist Spy. I was originally thinking of having another skull but that may get confusing. So what is the best option, build an Imperial Fist Scout. My Spy will be based off this pose and details

I already started some of the work on him but need to do some green stuff work on him and get it to where he holds the bolter properly. it wont be 100% accurate to the image but close. The body I'm using is the Scout getting to repel off the Land Speeder Storm. I'll update this post eventually with pics and a parts break down.
