Manic Monday # 57

 

So long time no post.....life went a little off for a bit. Holidays and all the emotions that those are filled with and just a lack of overall holiday spirit. I was able to reconnect with some old friends...which helped enhance my mood. 

Weekend of December 10th- Well I did pick my preorders/ Ordes finally and while hanging out in local Warhamer Store, I purchased a Thunderhawk....for Aeronautic Imperalis. But this is 1 of 2 (or 3) Thunderhawks, I have planned for my collection. 

While joking around at the store, I was asked what army is it for and said my Grey Knights. I  few of the locals said they will let me use it as a Thunderhawk in normal games....gonna be odd cause of the lack of Footprint, but why not. 

On the 11th I decided to go out and play paintball with my friends and celebrate the live of those we lost over the years. And then I was informed we are playing in a tournment series starting in January. Well that measn more practices.  So last weekend (not christmas weekend) and the next 3 weekends will be Paintball related as i have scrimmages set up for the next 2 weekends with the 3rd week being the tournment. 

Well this weekend I had to get a some modeling done for The Warhammer Goodyear Necromunda Campaign start first of January. So I spent Wednesday 12/22 figuirng out my list and and building said models. Well there is 28 players and 6-7 are taking enforcers.....suck on bomb rats. Still tossing the idea between Cawdor or Redemptionist.

While watching the Batman Returns friday Evening I built my Thunderhawk.

Christmas night  I decided to start a project I was dreading. my Grey Knight Objective Counters. 

WORST KIT EVER- small attachment points. unclear instructions a true nightmare to build...perfect for lesser daemons breacking the warp. 

Sunday Morning I sat on the couch watching Ronin and started building a list around Ordo Malleus Inquistor, his retinue, and his inquistorial Stormtroopers.

Now I hate the heads on the Militarum Tempestus models, so I ordered alternative heads for them.

I will probably be ordering these from Pop Goes the Monkey 

The list will have My Ordo Malleus Terminator Inquistor Lord, 6 Acolytes, Astropath, Tempestor Prime, Command squad with dual plasma, 3 Squads wiht various loadouts of Militarium Tempestus, Commissar, Tech Priest Engineseer, Eversor Assassin, and Vendetta. I'm tradimg my buddy Entropmancer the unbuilt Chaos half of Shadow Spear (I have not intention of building) for unbuilt Tech Preist Engineseer and a box of Militarum Tempestus. I need to order a Start Collecting Militarum Tempest box, Valkyrie, FW Vendetta upgrade and Wheel upgrade for Taurox. 

Since I hate the plastic Commissar I purchased this model to represent my Commissar.

And then I started painting yesterday afternoon and only got 3 layers of Andrea Miniatures red base color on the models.

 Ugh....I just want to go back to sleep.....

Well the Warhammer community page kicked my wallet yesterday and nothing popped out.

I continued working on my Stormcast eternals and I am down to only having the  folloing models to build:

• 9 Judicators*
• Celestar Ballista
• Yndrasta
• Stormcast Endless spells

* I ran into an issue building the Judicators ie they annoyed me during the build phase i had to stop. 

So with being irrated with the judicators I switched to Necromunda to work on my Team for Upcoming Necromunda Goodyear  Warhammer store Campaign .

THat was all i got accomplished this weekend.....hopefull I'll get more done this weekend. 

Manic Monday # 36

 

What a weekend.....I kinda went crazy buying 8mm models for Titanicus, Aeronautiac Imperialis and Epic. and I still am not done. I have to figure out an terrain and crusader order from Tap That Game on Etsy for the table I want to build. 

I'm 80% sure Im going to go Legio Gryphonicus as they Served on Tallarn and Terra agmost other worlds with ties to the Imperial Fists.

No painting done this weekend but I did finally knock out the remaining Aeronautic Imperialis models I had laying around sine the inital release on Thursday evening.

With those done my next portion of the Imperial Navy arrived Saturday along with My Civitas Basing material for my Titans. I was able to finally Channel my Inner War effort and Henry Ford build.

3rd and 4th Marauder need turrets and wing weapons. Marauder destroyers still need more work. Then I have 4 Thunderbolts to work on and today the rest of the navy should be arriving. 

I plan on getting another 2 marauders to make the Colussus Bomber Variant and Pathfinder Variant. I dont feel like spending $55 for 2 of each so $110 for 4 aircraft when I need 2.

So I have been sitting on some Aeronautic Imperialis models since the inital relase......I love how the Thunderbolt looks plus the first campaign was Rynn's World, so I had that attachment to it.. I hate how the game play of Aeronautica Imperialis and most aircraft based games for that matter. For me it is a really cool way to get these Aircraft I love. 

Currently I have the Wings of Vengenace starter, Ground Assets, Imperial Navy Dice and cards. 

2 Thunderbolts is not enough. And well I dont have the Skies of Fire starter and dont really want it. The Taros campaign maybe....probably for the aircraft art work, plus all the GW releases for Imperial Navy and Astra Militarium. 

So I purchased: 

4 Thunderbolts (2 will be Fury Variants)

2 Marauders (bringing total to 4)

2 Marauder Destroyers 

4 Avenger Strike Fighters

6 Lightning Fighters

4 AM Valkyries

More plastic for the  pile of Shame. 

Not sure what squadron or paint scheme I will be going with.

So a game want to play but is so expensive but it involves TITANs.....My Regular Opponent Entropmancer is in the same boat. I want it but so expensive. Well I took the dive and purchased the core rules with 2 knights, 2 Warhounds, 2 reavers and the rules.

I love Warhounds.....My favorite Titan so I bought another 2 plus the Loyalist Legio Book.

After we discussed my purchasing the starter and 2 warhounds and The loyalist legio book. Entropmancer is in. He even sent me a link to cheap Terrain out of the UK for Dropzone Commander

Then I purchased the Civitas Manfacturom Imperialis too

Thats a good start for us. Entropmancer and I began discussing the different Legios and which ones we would play. Entropmancer said he wanted to play Traitor Legio Kyrtos (God Breakers) due to their ties with IV Legion Iron Warriors from Great Crusade to Current times. I laughed causes I am leaning towards Legio Gryphonicus (War Griffons) With ties to the VII Legion Imperial Fists during the same time. The conversation eventually became the usual we want Epic 40k Battle for Tallarn...with tons of tanks, superheavy tanks, and titans. 

 After watching a few youtube videos I purchased some magnets from Magnet Baron, and Civitas Imperialis buildings to make ruins on bases and to swap weapons out. 

Then I ordered my Warlord Titan and some more stuff....Books I found used on ebay

As I was sitting around I started think how to make my Bases more unique.

So I missed out on epic and well it is still on the wish list just to have a Guard Tank Army.

The Pewter Epic stuff from GW is so expensive or hard to get since it has been out of print since 3rd edition 40k. I started looking on etsy to see what I could find
