Well its 2023........

Well yeah 2023 is here.....by 10 days ago...Travelling through the Warp is hard as it is.

So long time no update. House has been a construction zone since September due to another water leak from Refrigerator line (again) no time line on completion due to lack of materials, work backed up etc. While working on the 5 Paladins I had an incident that pretty much ended me working on them.  I was painting in master bedroom with poor lighting, because my hobby area is a storage area for all the furniture in my house and one day during house keeping I was not paying attention and pushed the paint pots into the 5 paladins and even though they were magnetized, 3 of them popped of the metal tray and fell off the shelf and tray. Fortunately I was able to recover all the pieces and put them on the tray. Needless to say I was  mad at myself and shelved the project.

So I dropped off posting on Blog, on B&C, Work took over life and by Thanksgiving week I had to take a break from it all before I lost it.

I did accomplish a few things during break. I was able to finally get most of my old room at Parents cleaned up. Also found lots of EC, IF, and MK IV marines for HH. Which I promptly sold or traded to the guys in Metal Head Armory. 

I was able to play my First game of HH Age of Darkness Raven Guard vs Entropomancer's Iron Warriors. Love my Seekers......but overall lost game to bad leadership rolls....and I do mean bad. While on that topic my Raven Guard are at the I need to clear coat stage of paint so hopefully I'll get some pics.

Well the next "Season" for Warhammer was announced "Arks of Omen" and Chapter Approved with massive points changes, rule changes, and new force org charts.

The most important thing that is coming out of this to me is this

Freaking Boarding actions!

I was cleaning and looked at the Paladins and finally decided to fix them.....Boarding actions and Arks of Omen may have have something to do with this.  I then ordered 2 more boxes of GK Terminators with a 3rd being picked up as part of the trade for MK4 marines plus other stuff I received.  The plan is to build the 2 boxes as Squad 5 and Squad 6 of terminators (halberds and Incinerator, Swords and Incinerator).  3rd box is to build the non special Weapon model for Squad Armand De Pergord, Squad 5, and Squad 6.

So with Arks of Omen and Boarding actions coming out this weekend Ill be trying to get those models ready for so Space hulk style shenanigans against my friends.  
 
As a side note I finished painting 69 models in 2022, 31 of those were Grey Knight Terminator armor (out of the 52 I needed to paint- 59% completion). Not bad for me. 

Manic Monday # 80

 

Well Thursday sucked more than I thought. Discovered another leak that damaged my floors again. Refrigerator water line again. But cracked due to old age. So by the time this is done bathrooms and bedrooms will be the only parts with old flooring.....FML. Insurance is covering repairs for water damage but not for leak. Demo company is contracted and we shall see how fast this gets repaired.....last years repairs still not fixed. 

On the hobby front I was stressed and bought Horus Heresy Age of Darkness and Liber Astartes. Because all my living room furniture blocking my work area I am unable to work on my Grey Knight Paladins. Ok so I wanted to work on my Raven Guard. Wednesday I had bought my Dark Fury and Contemptor Dreadnought from Forge World.

Manic Monday #73

 So my last post was April 11th... 2 months, 1 week 2 days ago....and during that time I have painted a blistering 6 models and those were this week!

But otherwise my past few weeks have been like this.....

Like a true Capricorn, I powered through it and back to where I need to be. And Bolter & Chainsword is down for a much need upgrade and I am looking forward to the new digs and being able to post there again. 

Onto the modeling front:

 So Metal Head Armory is doing a Necromunda Campaign....I'm torn between Redemptionist or Delaque and well neither gang is painted or built to my standards for this type of fight.....yet.

On the 40k Front....

I started back to working on my April Vow of Battle Sister Squad and Cherub.....

Before deciding to continue on the next 5 members of the squad I figured I work on the Repentia Superior.

Finally got around to painting her flames and whips....

Since I was painting flames I started on another model that has molded flames.....Pious Vorne

She got a lot of attention and still alot to do on her. 

I did get my Warhammer+ Year Membership model 3 months early since I was already subscribed to the apps.  I don't think I am going to build and paint him as hes not really game friendly (not a removable model from the terrain)

Its a short week for me so hopefully more painting done this week/ weekend

Manic Monday #72

 

Well only had 2 days off but not really.  Thursday I had an overnight shift 2:15 am so I got some sleep. then did stuff around the house, tried to relax and made dinner. Friday I was off but time went by so quick as I was running around getting groceries for dinner. Saturday I was supposed to work for 6 hours but due to a communication issue it was only 4 hrs and then got groceries and well needed to unwind. Yesterday was full 12 hr shift. So 16 hrs in before my Work Week starts......

Hobbying done......nothing. 

April is becoming the month of no time very quickly. I have to work Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, next few weeks.....

Manic Monday # 71

 How I would describe my 4 days off in a picture ........

So I had plans to get some modeling done this weekend amongst the other issues I had to handle. 

Thursday Plan- Get some much need rest, do laundry, do some house cleaning, possible airbrush, cook food, visit dad and go to Warhammer Goodyear store.

Thursday what actually happened- Woken up by Girlfriend after she had left for work five minutes earlier, saying her car is making a lound noise. Get dressed and take her to work. Grab breakfast on way home watch a little tv while eating and talk to my mom. Go to Warhammer Goodyear to pick up my special orders, Visit dad, go pick up GF, Swing by Lowes to get a floor jack so I can remove air damn and plastic skid plate no jack in stock. go home and remove them with mini star screwdriver, change visit dad again pick up fast food and call it a day.

Friday plans- Take mom's car in for damage estimate, go to Gym, go grab groceries, relax at home, start laundry, do some light cleaning, airbrush, cook food, and possible get dad from hospital. 

Friday what actually happened-  Take mom's car in for damage estimate, go to Gym, go grab groceries, went to Gamer Goat adn pickedup Black Primer and some contrast paints. cleaned toilets, Mom called at 1215pm saying she was running errands and I will probably have to pick up my dad from hosital. 1245pm dad calls and says they are working on his discharge paperwork. Get ready get to Hospital at 1pm, Dad discharged and home by 2pm. Go to walgreens and pick up his new prescriptions, and then watching dad until 430pm when mom gets home. Go home start cooking eat dinner, go to bed.

Saturday plans- Go to plastic model show as a customer to update Dad's friends on his condition, Go hang out with Gaming group at Gamers Guild.

Saturday what actually happened- Showed up to the show at 8am when it usually starts. Show start time is 10am doors open for vendors at 830am. Work Show from 830am to 10am helping other vendors off load and Setting up tables. 10am to noon worked booth. Picked up lunch, went home dealt with family phone calls (5 calls), Went to Gamers guild around 2pm and purchased Tempest of war cards. dealt with more family phone calls, left to go home @ 5pm. Ate Dinner and went to bed.

Manic Monday # 57

 

So long time no post.....life went a little off for a bit. Holidays and all the emotions that those are filled with and just a lack of overall holiday spirit. I was able to reconnect with some old friends...which helped enhance my mood. 

Weekend of December 10th- Well I did pick my preorders/ Ordes finally and while hanging out in local Warhamer Store, I purchased a Thunderhawk....for Aeronautic Imperalis. But this is 1 of 2 (or 3) Thunderhawks, I have planned for my collection. 

While joking around at the store, I was asked what army is it for and said my Grey Knights. I  few of the locals said they will let me use it as a Thunderhawk in normal games....gonna be odd cause of the lack of Footprint, but why not. 

On the 11th I decided to go out and play paintball with my friends and celebrate the live of those we lost over the years. And then I was informed we are playing in a tournment series starting in January. Well that measn more practices.  So last weekend (not christmas weekend) and the next 3 weekends will be Paintball related as i have scrimmages set up for the next 2 weekends with the 3rd week being the tournment. 

Well this weekend I had to get a some modeling done for The Warhammer Goodyear Necromunda Campaign start first of January. So I spent Wednesday 12/22 figuirng out my list and and building said models. Well there is 28 players and 6-7 are taking enforcers.....suck on bomb rats. Still tossing the idea between Cawdor or Redemptionist.

While watching the Batman Returns friday Evening I built my Thunderhawk.

Christmas night  I decided to start a project I was dreading. my Grey Knight Objective Counters. 

WORST KIT EVER- small attachment points. unclear instructions a true nightmare to build...perfect for lesser daemons breacking the warp. 

Sunday Morning I sat on the couch watching Ronin and started building a list around Ordo Malleus Inquistor, his retinue, and his inquistorial Stormtroopers.

Now I hate the heads on the Militarum Tempestus models, so I ordered alternative heads for them.

I will probably be ordering these from Pop Goes the Monkey 

The list will have My Ordo Malleus Terminator Inquistor Lord, 6 Acolytes, Astropath, Tempestor Prime, Command squad with dual plasma, 3 Squads wiht various loadouts of Militarium Tempestus, Commissar, Tech Priest Engineseer, Eversor Assassin, and Vendetta. I'm tradimg my buddy Entropmancer the unbuilt Chaos half of Shadow Spear (I have not intention of building) for unbuilt Tech Preist Engineseer and a box of Militarum Tempestus. I need to order a Start Collecting Militarum Tempest box, Valkyrie, FW Vendetta upgrade and Wheel upgrade for Taurox. 

Since I hate the plastic Commissar I purchased this model to represent my Commissar.

And then I started painting yesterday afternoon and only got 3 layers of Andrea Miniatures red base color on the models. 

Manic Monday #50

 

What a craptastic week. Planned keeping the momentum from last week and was only able to hobby Monday night last week and that was adding technical paint to bases. 

Lots of Doctors visits, surgeries, vet visits, etc not a good weekend or Week for that matter. I'm fine it was all my parents/

Did order more Seceret Weapon concrete wash, picked up White Dwarf # 469 still waiting on #468 tho. 

I need to work on my Redemptionist gang pretty quick for January's Necromunda League at the Warhammer Goodyear store. I am supposed to build and not prime the models but I have to figure out my list too. Off to Yaktribe I go

Manic Monday # 25

 Sorry for the lack of posts but life went sideways for a bit and still trying to recover. Water leak under the house damaged my kichen flooring and thats all should be replaced shortly. Engine was going bad on my Jeep Liberty so I had to get a newer vehicle, Jeep Cherokee and all the necessary accessories that are required for it (Dashmat, Weathertech flooring, sun screen).  And then add all the OT at work and worrying about fathers upcoming medical procedure. 

OK back to the wargaming world.
