Manic Monday # 57

 

So long time no post.....life went a little off for a bit. Holidays and all the emotions that those are filled with and just a lack of overall holiday spirit. I was able to reconnect with some old friends...which helped enhance my mood. 

Weekend of December 10th- Well I did pick my preorders/ Ordes finally and while hanging out in local Warhamer Store, I purchased a Thunderhawk....for Aeronautic Imperalis. But this is 1 of 2 (or 3) Thunderhawks, I have planned for my collection. 

While joking around at the store, I was asked what army is it for and said my Grey Knights. I  few of the locals said they will let me use it as a Thunderhawk in normal games....gonna be odd cause of the lack of Footprint, but why not. 

On the 11th I decided to go out and play paintball with my friends and celebrate the live of those we lost over the years. And then I was informed we are playing in a tournment series starting in January. Well that measn more practices.  So last weekend (not christmas weekend) and the next 3 weekends will be Paintball related as i have scrimmages set up for the next 2 weekends with the 3rd week being the tournment. 

Well this weekend I had to get a some modeling done for The Warhammer Goodyear Necromunda Campaign start first of January. So I spent Wednesday 12/22 figuirng out my list and and building said models. Well there is 28 players and 6-7 are taking enforcers.....suck on bomb rats. Still tossing the idea between Cawdor or Redemptionist.

While watching the Batman Returns friday Evening I built my Thunderhawk.

Christmas night  I decided to start a project I was dreading. my Grey Knight Objective Counters. 

WORST KIT EVER- small attachment points. unclear instructions a true nightmare to build...perfect for lesser daemons breacking the warp. 

Sunday Morning I sat on the couch watching Ronin and started building a list around Ordo Malleus Inquistor, his retinue, and his inquistorial Stormtroopers.

Now I hate the heads on the Militarum Tempestus models, so I ordered alternative heads for them.

I will probably be ordering these from Pop Goes the Monkey 

The list will have My Ordo Malleus Terminator Inquistor Lord, 6 Acolytes, Astropath, Tempestor Prime, Command squad with dual plasma, 3 Squads wiht various loadouts of Militarium Tempestus, Commissar, Tech Priest Engineseer, Eversor Assassin, and Vendetta. I'm tradimg my buddy Entropmancer the unbuilt Chaos half of Shadow Spear (I have not intention of building) for unbuilt Tech Preist Engineseer and a box of Militarum Tempestus. I need to order a Start Collecting Militarum Tempest box, Valkyrie, FW Vendetta upgrade and Wheel upgrade for Taurox. 

Since I hate the plastic Commissar I purchased this model to represent my Commissar.

And then I started painting yesterday afternoon and only got 3 layers of Andrea Miniatures red base color on the models. 

Necromunda Reinforcements are Here....Finally.

 

Back on 11/06 I preordered some Necromunda from Games Workshop and Forge World. Well they both were finally delivered yesterday 12/08....ugh.

Good thing the Campaign starts in 2021.

So I need to run to the store and pick up my other preorder stuff that finally arrived and my STC brushes finally shipped too. Order those in October. 

So I need to work on my Cawdor/ Redemptionist for the campaign 

all here well the FW stuff is in my possession

Manic Monday # 52

 

Well another weekend has passed and well I did get some modeling done.....eventually.

Thursday- I was tired and pretty much slept and napped most of the day.  It has been a long few weeks and I need to catch up on rest. 

Friday- Feeling better I started working on my Repentia as they were close to being done, with just their basing I needed to finish. 

Which brings my Completed Order of the Valorous Heart models to Cannoness, Palatine, Imagifier, Hospitaller, and now 8 Repentia. Success!

I grabbed my next figures to paint: Celestian Squad and Repentia Superior, I have been working on.

I started off doing the first layer of white on the inner robes of the Celestian squad using Vallejo Deck Tan model Color

I then switched to working with other models to ensure the first layer dried.

I worked on the scrolls, Highlight flesh tones, and painted the wings on the Celestian squad cherub.

and then I started on some of the detail work on the Repentia Superior.

Saturday- Girlfriend and I had to go get groceries for the week but first I looked at the Preorders from Forgeworld and sure enough, Klovis the Redeemer and Malakev, Stig Shambler, and Sheen birds were on preorder. I smashed the preorder button and purchased all 3 to find out the sheen birds were almost as much as the Stig Shamber and Redeemer/ Malakev figures combined. (Edit I just looked on the FW website...Stig Shambler -says it is Temporarily out of stock- and Redeemer/ Malakev are listed as $47 each, Sheen Birds are $35. I paid $18 for each figure and $35 for sheen birds, plus had my FW Voucher from a few months ago still)

So we went a mini walmart near the Warhammer Goodyear store and I picked up my preorder Kill Team Chalnath box. My order actually did not ship to store yet so they will take my copy and hopefully my orders get shipped out soonish. Still waiting on my STC brushes, accessory holder and spray stick. 

While their I preordered Cawdor weapon set x2, purchased White Dwarf 468, and Issues #2 and #3 of the Sister of Battle comic book.

Once home I looked at the Chalnath sprues pulled Tau out and proceeded to look at instructions for the Sisters Novitiates. Ugh Stupid hats on superior that had to go.

 

And then I continued working on them the rest of the evening:

I built mine more inline with how I plan on using them in 40k than Kill Team.  Superior as a plasma pistol and power sword, 2 Novitiates have flamers, one got the Simulacrum Imperialis, I built othe remaining ones as: duelist set up (liked the pose), unsheathing sword, Running with autogun, and 3 got minor arm swap conversions (sword and throwing grenade, scoped autogun arms, and the hospitaller novitiate I gave the slung autogun to).

Sunday- I planned on painting but had the normal lunch date with my sister, my nieces, my mom and my girlfriend in the afternoon and I was tired of staring at the 50mm bases on my desk so I figured i start working on the Paragon Warsuits since I had the Superior built already. I got home from lunch and resumed build Warsuits, I had the heavy bolter clipped off the sprue and set that sprue with the Superiors sprue and noticed that the heavy bolter was still on the superior's sprue and the multi melta was not. Mistake avoided.  Thinking I was done for the night I snapped this photo of my completed builds for the weekend:

It turned out to be earlier then I expected....so I had a little time left so I built the 3rd and final Paragon War Suit. 

This time I gave this one a mace. 

Manic Monday #51

Ugh. So my last day away from work was Sunday 10/24,  and I wont be off until 11/04. So My modelling time has been non existent this week. 

I did purchase Kill Team Chalnath this weekend, along with the new spray stick and Sub assembly holders. 

Hopefully this coming weekend I'll be able resume projects in progress. since I only have a few projects in the works.

Adepta Sororitas:

So I have units in multiple stages of of the build. A few units are complete or have a minor detail to do.  One Repentia Squad needs it's bases finished. I have a few units to build, Some need basing and primer coat, a bunch that need their metallic colors sprayed, and a lots waiting for their time under the brush. I have a few units left to build. 

Still need to purchase: Triumph of St. Katherine and Battle Sanctum

Grey Knight:

Largest completed army with 3 HQs, 1 Elite, 3 troops and 1 Heavy. Also largest Army I need to prime and finish building units for. My GK Kill Team, 11 Purifiers, Crowe, 5 man purgation squad, stormhawk, storm talon, venerable dreadnought, and 2 5 man Interceptor squads are waiting on basing and priming. 

Still need to purchase: Plasma cannon for dreadnought

Drukhari:

Need to layer first color on bikes and venom then apply stencils and paint primary color. I still have 10 more Wyches, Lelith, Drazhar, Venom, 3 bikes, and scourges to build, base, and prime. 

Still need to purchase: squad of Wyches, 2 Raiders,  Incubi, Venom, and Forgeworld Reaper

Adeptus Titanicus:

Ugh this project. I want to finish it but have no clue on what colors to paint my models. Lots of Titans and terrain to build and paint.

Still need to purchase: Traitor Legion book and a few titans here and there....nothing really specific

Necromunda:

I need to fix my champion that lost his Heavy Stubber and add a new weapon hand to replace on that is lost on one of my gangers, for Cawdor. Then back to contrast painting on them

I need to finish building my Redemptionist, and start painting.

Still need to purchase: Redeemer and Stig Shambler when released

Stormcast Eternals:

So I think I am going to paint them like the Knight Templars, base troops white cloaks, etc, leaders black.

Still need to purchase: No clue.....

Manic Monday #45

 Days off over back to work for another week....vacation coming soon!

On September 3rd, I finally caved and bought Artel W's Tattered Brute model because I did not see Forgeworld or Games Workshop  releasing the Stig Shambler for House Cawdor/ Redemptionist

Then on September 6 the Warhammer Community Article was this model

The Stig Shambler........Since I am playing in a Campaign at Warhammer Goodyear store in January (hopefully) I must get one. I'm a little annoyed it took this long for him to be released. But mainly mad I just ordered the Artel W one. And we are still waiting on Klovis the Redemeer.

On the Grey Knight hobby front, it has been all about building my Kill Team 

Strike Squad- Hand of Titan:  

• Justicar Alaric Esdrius - Daemon Hammer
• Brother Martesias Cordacus- Falchions
• Brother Drystan Solor- Nemesis Force Weapon (Sword)
• Brother Icanus Akantar- Falchions
• Brother  Achaddeus Vortimer- Incinerator

The squad was built with a Strike Squad, Primaris intercessors heads (for 3 of the marines) and pouches, Bloodletter head and 2 heads from Grey Knight Terminator kit. Skulls from the citadel skulls, green stuff, cork, basing sand, plasticard tubes for new gun barrels and body extensions, GW ejecting shel casings and Armorcast Cinematic Effect blasts. 

I did pick up this for the upcoming Dreadnought build

On the Adepta Sororitas front.....less models built then Grey Knights but more activitiy. 

Battle Sister Superior Alcia Ventress was built for my upcoming Adepta Sororitas Kill team.

I did order my Datacards and Battletome for AoS Stormcast Eternals so those models will be built eventually.
