Manic Monday #14- Getting there

Well the desk, drawers, glass cabinets, and paint racks are built and I have started placing models in the cabinets. I quickly realized 3 shelves are not enough and ordered 4 acyrlic shelves off of etsy along with mounts this will increase my shelves from 6 to 10 which should hold everything.

I have decided to cut down my Raptors and Mortifactor armies to what I would field in a normal game. I guess I shoudl but the Space Marine Codex. I will be selling a lot of the unbuilt and sealed stuff to fund other projects (Adepta Sororitas and Heavy Gear mostly).

  • Mortifactors will be Indomintus box plus a few other units like intercessors, inceptors and Hellblasters.

  • Raptors will be set up on Vanguard detachment with scouts leading the way for the infiltrators, incursors, Suppressors, and eliminators.

  • With the Piety and Pain box set coming out I will build a small Drukhari force around the Cult of Strife based around Lilth.

  • The 7th Brotherhood will continue as planned. I have very little to buy for them as I have almost everything, outside of Dreadknights. With Storm Raven, Storm Talon and Stormhawk and 3 Land Raiders. this army will take up lots of space. I'm still debating on the Legio Models Grey Knight Upgrade knight kit.

  • The Order of the Valorous Heart will continue as planned also. Right now short the armor vehicles and of course the Piety and Pain box set. Then its building and painting.

An Eventual return

So I have been absent since August. A serious case of adulting had struck. Between the exxtra hours of work, house hunting and the entire dealings of that, and other hobbies, I had to step back.

During that break I realized I have more models to build and paint then I could possibly paint in the time I have and there are other armies I want to work on.  So I have decided to part ways with certain armies.

What Armies I have:

  • Adepta Sororitas - Order of Valourous Heart. With 3 of the the new starters (One of which I may sell) and loads of new models needed, I can not part with the Adepta Sororitas. Still one of my favorite armies visually.

  • Grey Knights- 7th Brotherhood. The Grey knights are the army I have the most models completed for them. I do like the Grey Knights and want to see the rules update. Tons of models to still build for them.

  • Adepta Astartes- Raptors Chapter. My 10th Company army has been ruined thanks to GW..... Scouts being elites choices and forcing me to use phobos has me fall out of desire to play Adepta Astartes. I plan on finishing the units I have built and primed and then putting them on display.

  • Adepta Astartes- Mortifactors. WIP All Primaris army that may be super small when done but only on display.

  • Adepta Astartes- Crimson Fists. First born an enter company worth. And one of the armies that pissed me off the most. The blue I used changed from pot to pot so they don't match. Alos their rules are not bad but I would say not good. They have been retired for a while now.

  • Imperial Knights- Yeah  I have 2 knights and 4 armiger classes the chances of me actually playing or building this army slim to none....may keep a knight for Legio Models Grey Knight Upgrade tho.

  • 30k - Emperor Children.  3rd company elite.....traitorous noise marines. Yeah 30k is expensive and outside buying the Characters I like, nope.

  • Aeronautic Imperialis- Starter box. Yeah 6mm 40k aircraft. Game kinda sucks in my opion but I have an Imperial Navy.

  • Necromunda- House Cawdor. The religious fanatics of the Underhive. Does not matter if it is Orginal Edition, Community Edition or the Underhive edition. I like Cawdor for the robed look and the fact they look like dark age squires.

So I have decided to keep my Adepta Sororitas, Grey Knights, and Cawdor as playable the rest I'll sell off once I get in my new place and settled in.

Manic Monday #10- More Mortifiactors !!!!!

So as the normal Monday routine I am posting my updated models that I worked on this weekend...well my shortend weekend. Hooray OT

I spent some time Thursday working on the first 2 models that I figured would be the easiest:

Chaplain Lekli Tanacsado

Judiciar Kereskedo Halal

Friday I continued to work on models

Judicar Halal is almost done

And in between painting Judiciar Halal, I started working on Apothecary Ovos Elemento

And most importantly his base.....which is my first Mortifactor done

Before I started painting my apothecary, my regular opponent Entropmancer and I were discussing "Codex Paint Schemes" for support characters. Thanks to the old 3rd ed Ravenguard Index Astartes WD Article, we both usually paint our Support Characters (Librarian, Apothecary, and Techmarine) in the chapter colors with an arm, helmet or back pack the Codex Color. Chaplains are always black tho. We started laughing cause I'm painting my Apothecarian White per the Codex, my Librarius Dark Blue per the codex, Reclusium Black, and eventually the Vehilce crew and Primaris Techmarines Red per the codex.

Overall Ilike the paint scheme so far. just need to crank out the models now.

Manic Monday #8

So I did not work on my Raptors at all this weekend and instead focused on mocking up the models from Indomintus Crusade for my Mortifactors, Ultramarine Successors chapter. My main purpose of mocking up the models is to hang skulls and bones off the models, see where the sub assemblies will be and to set up their bases.

Skulls are from the Citadel Skulls set, and Warlord Games skeletons (mine are wargames factory but they are repacked and sold as Warlord Games, so yeah) attached with foil and chain from various sources.

Bases are various sand and rocks, ceramic bricks, plasticard I-beams and rods, wire and guitar string and more skulls.

So an earlier post I had my Chaplain and Judicicar  mock ups

Well they are now named Chaplain Lelki Tanascado and Judicicar Kereskedo Halal and are joined by

3rd Company Captain Idegen Gyiklos- Indomitus Armor

3rd Company Lieutenant Fiatal Harcos

Bladeguard Veterans lead by Sgt Vedo Paranscnok

Eradicators led by Sgt Tartaly Vadasaz

I also purchased a Chief Librarain Tigurius, Repulsor Executioner, Lieutenant Amulus and  Skull icons for Vehicle and Tyranid Hunter markings for Shoulder pads from Plokoone's bits

I am planning to make Lieutenant Amulus into a variant Captain Idegen Gyiklos with Power Sword and Master Crafted Auto bolter.

Chief Librarian Tiguruis will become Chief Librarain Szerencse Elbeszélő and I'll add a normal Primaris Librarain.

Only Firstborn I'm planning on feilding are Scouts, Telion, and Tyranid Hunters, eventually.

Mortifactors

So I have decided to build my Indomintus Crusade Marines as Mortifactors, Ultramarine Successors. I am torn between the 3rd or 5th Company. I am going to be using UM rules so I can use Tiguriuss and Telion. Plus the UM rules are actually not bad. The force will be mainly Primaris as I have ton of models available. I do plan to eventual adding a squad of Scouts as the "Faceless"- Shotguns and CCW. Icons and markings have been purchased from Plokoone on Shapeways

Here's WIP of the Chaplain and Judiciar (head is just a place holder)
