Hail Mary.....

UGH work week is semi done...coming back Friday night

Really feeling like her right now. Beaten, bloody, tired, hungry.....excited.

Why Excitement?

Hail Mary should be at my house. My Adepta Sororitas Castigator tank

So this weekend it will probably get built. And maybe my other Immolator for the list I am working on. But I have to build the Celestian Sacresants and Zephyrim for the list too. And Paint....

So Hail Mary probably wont get many conversions that I like to do to my tanks...Mary Full of Grace Probably will get the sprucing up.

Squeeeeee

So excited.... So yesterday while trolling facebook I saw a local 40k member selling something and jumped on it.

That's right I scored a sealed Piety and Pain for a decent price and not ebay scalper price. More Wyches, another Venom, Scourges, and Lelith For my Cult of Strife. More Retributors, an immolator and a Palatine for my Order of theValorous Heart.

As an added bonus I was able to pick it up on my way home last night as I was going to have to detour anyways due to emergency on my normal path home.

A Spiritu Dominatus....

So lately I've been listening to Amazon Audible books from Black Library.  even though I have read Faith and Fire many a  times I still bought the audible book. So the other day I was working on My GK psilencer Strike team member and the next day I thought I work on the next member of the squad....I didn't. I started working on the MKIB immolator project I've been sitting on for a while. The next day I was hangout with some friends at my FLGS and playing with his knights.....yeah I had to roll for him while he was occupied and his GF almost took out the knight I was rolling for. Later that day I found my self stripping a bunch of Adepta Sororitas models in LA Totally Awesome (its a $1 at Dollar Tree). Then pointing out lists for my Sisters....its a sickness.

So Im back to working on my Order of the Martyred Lady Adepta Sorotias army for 8th edition. I've been watching a lot of painting videos from Janene over at Mini War Gaming to try different techniques to make them stand out.

So far I plan on getting the 500 pts done for them and continue adding points (250 or 500) over time. Right now the army will be a patrol led by Canoness Athena (as always), Imagifier, a few small Battle Sister squads, Dominions, Seraphim and Retributors.

I placed a Custom Decal order from Chapter Customizer  because the only decals I have for my order are wrong.

Old logo, new one is same but in white with red skull

I have 50 32mm Sanctuary bases in their Fleur De Lis and non Fleur De Lis pattern, both Hero stlyes bases, Fleur De Lis, and the large ruins set from Dragon Forge   I planned on using for my Adepta Sororitas. Since Dragon Forge is a one person operation and takes time for him to make them, I figured it was time to order more since I'm using 1 Hero (40mm base) and 26 32mm bases plus 5 pieces from the ruins. But I ordered 2 100mm bases and the smaller ruins set too.

For what?

The 2 Armiger Helverins I am adding to the army. I honestly feel that Sisters should not have a LoW in 40k and rely on Knights for that purpose so I going to add @ 1500 pts of Knights to my army in the form of 2 Helverins, 2 Warglaives, a Knight Gallant and a Knight ....I'm not sure but it will have the minigun.....so Crusader or Warden.

So 1 Helverin is in the list at 1750 but it may become 2...at a cost of repressors and rhinos tho.

The Knights will either by heavily weathered or off white and reds. and I'll be using Hawkshroud rules. Even tho they will be "Freeblades"' or a house joined a War of Fath.

Immolator Mk Ib Build Update 2

Any progress is progress, Right?

So no real build updates since I started the build in November (part 1 & part 2) it has sat there gathering dust. Al ot of my issues were the side doors. I want this Immolator to have very Similar doors to the original model  which was not working as planned.

While looking on shapeways for other things one of my saved sellers had these for sale:

I finally placed my order today and they should be here in 9 days or so then i get to make them working doors :)

Check out the Reliquary for some other bits too.

Immolator Mk Ib build

The Adepta Sororitas Mk I Immolator.

The Mk I was the only exclusive vehicle to the Sisters of Battle when they first appeared in 2nd edition. Eventually we would get a Forge World Upgrade kit for the rhino in 3rd edition allowing Sisters of Battle to take either Heavy Flamers or Multimeltas. Games-workshop would eventually release the 3rd version of the Immolator in a dual kit with a Sisters Rhino, allowing us to take Heavy Flamers, Multimeltas or Heavy bolters.

I have previously stated that the FW variant was my favorite followed closely by the Mk I. Now I have 3 FW Variants for my Sisters and personally I am not a fan of the GW new version or really any of the recent GW Sisters vehicles. Most of my vehicles are FW Variants, they look cooler.

Why the Mk I immolator. then? Something about it soothes the soul. And it will be nice to have as my Command Vehicle.

So far here is the parts breakdown:

GW

-Rhino
-Sisters of Battle upgrade sprue Heavy Flamers
- Mk I Immolator gunner

Optional parts

-Scout Bolt pistol (no hands same version carried by seraphim)
-bolter (no hands)
-Various Space Marine pouches (large and Small)
-Purity Seals (lots of them)
-Grenades
-Sisters of Battle upgrade bits
-Spare Rhino track

FW

-Deimos Rhino upgrade
-Sister of Battle rear door

Third Party Companies bits

Zinge Industries: Hoses, rivets, hose connectors, and spare road wheel

Wargames Exclusive: Head Lights (Optional)

Chapterhouse Studios:  Rhino Front plate  (Optional)

-I consider this optional as I had it laying around and since it is going to be covered up plasticard why not use it.

Secret Weapon Miniatures:  Brass Mesh

Hopefully this weekend I will have a model update for everyone.

New update......New Title of the Blog.

                                                                         A spiritu dominatus,
Domine, libra nos,
From the lighting and the tempest,
Our Emperor, deliver us.
From plague, temptation and war,
Our Emperor, deliver us,
From the scourge of the Kraken,
Our Emperor, deliver us.

From the blasphemy of the Fallen,
Our Emperor, deliver us,
From the begetting of daemons,
Our Emperor, deliver us,
From the curse of the mutant,
Our Emperor, deliver us,
A morte perpetua,
Domine, libra nos.
That thou wouldst bring them only death,
That thou shouldst spare none,
That thou shouldst pardon none
We beseech thee, destroy them.
-(commonly known as the Battle-prayer of the Adepta Sororitas)

So I have been toying with this idea long enough. With the amount of time I have due to other commitments. I need to focus on one army and only one army.

Adepta Sororitas have been my favorite army for over 20 years now and I should be giving them the love they deserve.

Currently I have began working on my Mk Ib Immolator Conversion

The Story

One of my favorite kits is the Mk I Immolator. It was such a fun kit and I had so many of them thanks to an ordering mistake at LGS (that is now out of business) having an extra 0 on the order and ended up selling them for $12.50 to get rid of them.  Good times

With  that being said I love the OOP FW model more and have a few kicking around still to build and the current one is ok but I want the Original one to transport my Original Canoness around .

Chapter House Mk I upgrade kit (front plate)

WIP 1

As I am doing a Mk IB Immolator I am going all out with a detailed transport interior. Cause why not.

I opened the vision slit on the Driver/ Gunner entry door, Removed the Godwyn Pattern bolter under the Command Console.  I then opened up the doors on the side.

Immolators- Project log pt1

So what is the upcoming project.

First with the grishnak models on their way to me, I want to set them up specifically for Kill team. The plan is to give them an Immolator as a transport for flamer goodness.

The parts I will be using are the side plates, exhaust stacks, and doors from the FW Deimos Rhino.

Forgeworld Immolator, with Front and Rear Adepta Sororitas parts

And the Plastic Adepta Sororitas vehicle sprues.

I may magnatize the weapon mount to switch between the Heavy Flamer and Multi Meltas...
I think I will refer to it as a MkIc or d.

The other Immolator that is being planned out is still in the gathering of parts stage but that will be Cannoness Commander Pallas Athena

Immolators

The Immolator is a variant of the Rhino chassis and used exclusively by the Adepta Sororitas as a transport.

History

The design specifications of the Immolator was first discovered within an ancient factory complex on Fornost, during the Icaria Crusade in M35. There a force of Frateris Templars captured an ancient factory complex intact, allowing an Adeptus Ministorum missionary team explored its contents. Missionary Morben the Devout discovered databanks from the Dark Age of Technology and reported his findings to his superiors. Knowing the value of this information to the Adeptus Mechanicus, the Ministorum used it as a bargaining chip for negotiations. Eventually the two organisations came to an agreement, the Fornosian Accords: the Mechanicus would have access to the databanks, and in exchange the Ministorum would have exclusive claim to any new technologies discovered.
After combing through the databanks, the only new design to be found was for a flame-thrower tank. Combining this knowledge with known STC designs for the Rhino, the Tech-priests of Mars came up with the Immolator and began exclusive production of it for the Ministorum.

Design

Immolators are armed with twin-linked Heavy Flamers as their primary armament. 'Sanctis' pattern-variants replace these with twin-linked Heavy Bolters, while the 'Justice' pattern-variant replaces them with twin-linked Multi-meltas. Space taken up by ammunition allows the Immolator to only carry a squad of six Sisters of Battle, which it deploys close to their objectives and advances in support. However, the Immolater does carry slightly more armour than the Rhino.

There have been 3 different Designs of the Immolator over the years. my favorite being the MKII (made Forgeworld)

MkI

The MkI was a plastic/ Pewter hybrid released with the original Sisters of Battle. I had many of these kits in the early year but sadly I don't have them anymore. Kit was super easy to build and was great for its time. During 2nd edition Heavy Flamers were the only weapon option.

MkII

The MkII was a resin conversion  using the new rhino kit. I have ahad a few....not as many as i would like. This version actually allowed us to take multi meltas too. Favorite part was the gunner looked the same as the MkI.

MkIII

The MkIII all plastic, lots of accessories, and is a combined kit with rhino. I bought a few...did not build that many of them....was my least favorite of the 3. Things I did like: Unique, Heavy Bolter/ Multi Melta/ Heavy Flamer Options, all the accessories, it was all plastic and it had the cool glass dome. Things I hated: the bare head, trying to paint the glass dome (a plastic frame would have been so much nicer), and the accessories you wanted usually there was one a sprue. Cool Feature the top plate could take a Whirlwind turret for cheap exorcist conversions.
