Manic Monday # 70

 

With a mad dash to the finish I did complete my March 2022 B&C 12 Months of Hobby Challenge....

So unlike the past few weeks I did not have to work Thursday, unfortunatly I had to work 2 16 hr shifts and 4 hrs Friday evening, after gym and running errands for parents then Dad ends up in hospital Firday night. Saturday was spent doing more errands and going to lunch with sister and seeing dad in hospital. And Sunday I had to work a full 12 hrs, mom was involved in a minor fender bender, dad is gonna be in hospital for a few more days....damn.. With the vow completion date of Thursday March 31st, the 3 (Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday) 12 hrs hifts and a 16 hrs shift Wednesday, I wont have time to finish during the week so, mad dash it was. 

So Saturday I started and completed my base for the Stormhawk Interceptor, between errands and everything else going on. 

This brings the completed count to the following:

• Completed Model Count for 2022: 33 models
• Warhammer New Years Resolution (Paint all 52 GK Terminators by 12/31): 16 of 52- 30% Complete 
• Bolter & Chainsword: 12 Months of Hobby Challenge: Jan-Mar: Completed

52 represents the additional 12 Terminators I built......so 1 a week....ugh I need to paint more Terminators.

I need a break from painting silver so I am gonna switch over and show some love to my Favorite Army, The Adepta Sororitas, Sisters of Battle. 

 Friday, and Saturday I did a little work on My Order of the Valorous Heart Battle Sister squad. I plan on making them my April Vow. 

One sister needs her base done, the other 4 sisters and cherub need finsihing and the 5 not in holders only have the skin tone started. 

I am starting to lean towards playing Sisters in the upcoming Metal Head Armory crusade just because Damage 2+ weapons or strength 6+ weapons mean crap when you only have 1 wound. Hopefully I fair better with them this weekend when I play. I was planning on taking my 1000 pt GK list and 1000pt Sisters to try them out.

I am also debatting increasing one of the Squads to 20 Sisters. We have been discussing it on Bolter & Chainsword and it seems like it may be a fun option for objective camping. 

I still need to build 5 more bases by Saturday for Entropmancer and gather up all the stuff going to the group. 

Manic Monday # 68

 

Well thats another weekend of 2022 gone......and I spent more time at working then I wanted. I am still not 100% from being sick a few weeks back and working OT at work probably not helping. But with prices going up I have to do what I can do. 

So after much discussion with Entropmancer about our friends armies on Thursday, I have decided to change up my Grey Knights list to deal with Tau and Tyranids players, and go Terminator Heavy. And I do mean Terminator heavy. My 1000 pt patrol list is rocking 15 terminators, 5 Paladins and a Librarian in Termiantor Armor as the warlord. for an extra 500 pts it becomes a Battalion with me adding a second Paladin squad, Apothecary and Grand Master takes over as warlord. 

One of the issues I was having was my 2 built terminator squads had no heavy weapons, my Paladins have max number in both squads (10 man Paragon with Hammer rest Halbreds/ Warding staves 4x Psycannons & 5 man Swords and 2 Incinerators). This meant I was going to have to remove the arms off the painted models to add Heavy weapons to the squads. Going through my Grey Knight Terminator bits, Found one Heavy weapon arm. And they are $6 each on ebay. I decided to slap them on regualr stormbolter arms instead. I found 5 heads I forgot about and then saw 3 Grey Knight termiantor legs....so I can have 3 squads of 6 models and one of 5...... So I built the Heavy weapons to add to squad De Gaudin and Quirin and Squad 4 of terminators got an extra swordsman

So after they were built, Friday I decided to build the 3rd Squad of Termiantors using the heads I found. 

So now I  have 3 built Termiantor squads, and this one will be my main Team just cause I love the hoods on them. 

Saturday after running errands I realized I needed to paint my Stormhawk. So I blocked out the reds, on the cockpit and stabilizer for Heraldry, and Weapon casings. 

After setting that aside to dry I started working on the Justicar for the 4th Terminator Squad

After work Sunday I built the last remaining (Non Named Character) Infantry Models for my Grey Knights. 

And here they are all 23 Troop Choice Termaintors

Only models left to build are the 5 Land Raiders and 1 Storm Raven.....then my Grey Knights will have everything built. 

Manic Monday # 66

 

Well its the end of February....which means my Feb 2022 12 months of Hobby Challenge is due...I completed 6 of the 10 models a few weeks back so I will getting Feb Completed and Feb Seriously badges. I figured I would go for the stubbon since I would be able to knock out 2 models this past weekend and save the other 2 for stubborn next month. I was wrong....

So with March around the corner it is time for my Next Vow. I'm gonna take a break from painting Terminators this month and go for my Grey Knights Stormhawk Interceptor. 

Terminators left to Paint: Grand Master on Foot, Grand Master Dreadknight, 2 Brotherhood Librarians, Apothecary, Paladin Ancient, 15 Paladins, 3 Dreadknights.

Terminators left to build and paint: 5 Terminators, 5 Paladins

Manic Monday # 27

So Warhammer Fest is now completed and Warhammer Community has posted the 9 Biggest Reveals from it.

With Age of Sigmar getting an update, me building ann AoS army is on hold. But lets talk about the biggest  things that were revealed  for 40k.

Magic and Fire box set. It appears to be pitting Thousand Sons and Grey Knights against each other. New Exalted Sorcerer and Castellan Crowe models teased too. 

My guess on the box is:

Gaunt's Ghosts.....Oh damn, super nice sculpts, great looking models and in plastic. I may have to get them. And will there be more models released later for an All Tanith army. 

I dislike the look of the Paragon War Suits but this one is nice.

I am gettign this box set. and Probably 3 Thunderhawks. One for My Raptors, One For my Grey Knights, and One for the starter.....Which I will probably paint into Emperor's Children cause why not. 

Wicked Wednesday- Weekend update- Air Support inbound

 

    So with the mistaked made on Friday I took it easy. My GF was working OT so I had the house to myself, so I watched Superbad, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Daniel Craig version), Gran Torino, Easy A and Burn Notice....I love Burn Notice. My main goal was to get our dinner cooked which was gonna take @ 6 hours. Corned Beef and Cabbage. Hooray!

    So while watching Gran Torino, I resumed building my Stormtalon, now that the cockpit was painted.

    With some extra time on my hands I finally finished working on my not FW Mk IV Dreadnought too. Like the other one he is Magantized at the waist, sensors, and arms

    So Saturday looking at how to base my Aircraft and 2nd Dreadnought I realized my Vallejo White Pumice is dried up. So off Amazon I went. And after a few minutes I purchased more stuff for the hobby section. I swear it is all needed....

    Tape is going to be essential for masking off areas to spray for on the Grey Knights vehicles. The Chipping medium will be for Mortifactors and Exorcists (possibly). Liquid mask you never know.  And Pumice is for large bases so I'm not using a whole pot of astronite granite. 

Maniac Monday #17- Air Superiorty!

 

    Another weekend over and done with. At least this week was a four day weekend for me. Thursday I spent waiting for locksmith and Heating Repair companies. Thursday evening I began working on a new project for my Grey Knights. I was able to order some spray paints for GW (leadbelcher) so I am waiting for those to arrive in 3 weeks time (Yeah ground shipping..)

    Friday, Hit the gym for an hour or so, bought groceries and meet my Friend Entropmancer at the local warhammer store between our houses. I needed to meet up with him to give him his Dreampod 9 Heavy Gear Southern Army Starter from our group order. Also one of the other guys in our group had bought a ton of primaris stuff from me, so I dropped that off too, plus all my Imperial Fist/ Crimson Fist bits too.  While at the GW Store, I picked up 1 can leadbecher, 1 can Wraithbone, 1 can Chaos black, and 1 can Zandri Dust. Then to the Parents, I went, to build their chicken coop. 1 hr and 45 minutes later I was on the way home. I found more primaris stuff  and 3 Elysian Drop Sentinels, all unbuilt. 

    When I got home, I fired up the Wood Pellet grill to make dinner. Ribeyes, mushrooms, baked potatoes and brussel sprouts. After dinner the GF and I cleaned up the house a little in preparation of out furniture delivery. I posted up the Priamris stuff to my local group and got a buyer. I posted the 3 Sentinels on Ebay and proceeded to continue cleaning for a bit. Within a few hours they had sold. I did some work on the new project then went to bed. 

    Saturday morning I got up and went to play paintball with my teammates and to celebrate our late Teammate Rudy's Birthday (he would have been 41 on 1/31). Furniture delivery did not go as planned. We were expecting a recliner one of our 2 couches and king bed. No couches were delivered. the GF and I then ran to pick our new bed frames and found out one of the ones I ordered that was listed "In Stock" was not actually in stock and would not be until June 2021.....and of course it was the King Bed frame not the full. I cancelled my order for that frame and bought another frame from a store across the street for less and was what I actually wanted (no wheels).  Then the GF and I met up with my nieces and sister and did some shopping with them. We arrived back home had dinner cleaned up a little bit and washed the new bedding for the new bed. Once that was done we made the bed and called it a day. 

    Sunday I got up made breakfast and packaged up the 3 Sentienls to drop off at the 24 USPS location. My GF and left the house to go have lunch with Rudy's widow, his daughter, and our friend Doug to celebrate Rudy's birthday. It was good seeing them.  After lunch the GF and I went back home. we decided while I was smoking ribs that we would just sit around and relax. I resumed working on the my new project and before I knew it, the Grey Knights New Stormhawk Interceptor was completed.

Not sure what I will start next week. But I need to put the stormbolters on my terminator squad still.
