Manic Monday # 85

 

Well another weekend has come and gone. House still is disarray. Working OT every week. Vicious cycle...

New purchases

So I had to do a hobby shop run as I near the Raven Guard build project completions. I ordered a metal cup for my oil washes, and Vallejo Metal Color Exhaust Manifold to follow this paint tutorial  Form Cult of Paint. Then I needed new sanding sticks and some other things so I hit up some local hobby shops for more paint, Plastic rods, and plastic cement. I did order more Pop Goes the Monkey stuff too. Along with another plastic Contemptor and more RG dice along with a 2nd Sword Praetor. 

My Warhammer+ voucher arrived and on Saturday I preordered my Proteus Land Raider. 

My Forgeworld, Forge of Mars, BattleBling and etsy orders arrived also. 

Modeling

So on the modeling front I was able to build my Master of Signals, and my 3 Tactical Support Squads (Rotor Cannon, Plasma rifle, and Meltagun).

Basing

I also continued basing models....like in this video from Tabletop Skirmish Games. It looked a little bland and when the vallejo pumice dried you could not see some areas so I added my standard basing material fine/ coarse ballast mixture and red bricks to the wooden stir sticks, cork board, skulls, and pumice on bases. I began running low so I mixed a new batch. Once mixed I noticed it was different as i had made it years ago and figured I try something new I learned from Luke at Geek Gaming Scenic and threw some (ok a lot) Tile Grout into the mixture.

It gives it a nice war torn look. In the Pictures below you can see the pre and post second dipping in flock.

Next is trying to get the Plasma and Rotor Cannon Tactical Support Squads basing done and then Priming my 1500 pt list.

#ATCLASHOFTITANS Vow

 

So I offical entered my Battlebling #ATClashoftheTitan August Vow on instagram last night. As I said previously I was going to vow Legio Audax Lupercal Maniple for the first month. 

Next month I'll vow my Canis Maniple along with the FW Volkites and Ursus claw/ BattleBling Ursus claws for that maniple

I need to get to work on these for the week update but hard to do when Desk is still not done. Hoping get that done this week between the 84 hours I am working on Overnight. Probable won't happen till Friday. And I will have no progress to report Week 1.

#atclashofthetitans Preview

 So BattleBling is running a 3 month event for the Adeptus Titanicus Community called #atclashofthetitans. 

On Wednesday BattleBling released the teaser . and on their Etsy store you could purchase yout #attheclashoftitians Clash Pack

Rule 1 is the best rule, I know I need to finish my other Titans but man I really want to do Legio Audax.

Legio Audax is the all Warhound Legio. I may not win gmaes but man I love the look of Warhounds.

So thanks to Youtuber The Forge of Mars for coming up with a scheme to crank them out quickly in the time alotted. 

My vow should be coming soon (Lupercal 3 Warhounds month 1, Canis 3 Warhounds Month 2,  2 Murder Turtles month 3)

 To go along with my FW Volkite arms,  FW Ursus Claw and Battlebling Ursas Claws I picked up my Clash pack and  these..

Oldeus Pattern. 

I just need to get 2 more Warhounds to have the 6 planned. 

Manic Monday #39

 

Man these OT shifts are taking are starting to wear me down. Second Week of 56+ hours in  a row. This week is only 52 hours followed by another 58 hour week....UGH.

Good news is new flooring is in and home repairs are just about completed. Bad news is Monday night after working a 12 hour shift I had to break down my hobby area. With all the repairs mostly completed My Girlfriend and I put the house back together and cleaned everything. I am happy to have my house back together and I will start redoing my hobby area. 

I did purchase a new overhead light from Neatfi on Amazon along with more Civitas Terrain.

This week I got some Forgeworld goodies for Adeptus Titanicus Various weapons, and terrain. Also My BattleBling name plates, Warhound arms, and Reaver arms are here. Along with my Winterdyne Banners. But my Big order from Tap that Game came in.

Funny thing was I about to order dice and decided to check WarComm first, glad I did. 

WarComm dropped the the Psychic Slugfest article  this morning featuring the 3 of the Thousand Cults out of the 9 available and 3 Brotherhoods of the Grey Knights out of the 8 Brotherhoods available. 

First up is the 3rd Brotherhood "The Wardmakers" ie  Grand Master Voldus and Brother Captain Stern's Brotherhood

Next up is the 4th Brotherhood know for the Prognosticars

And next up is the 1st Brotherhood "The Swordbearers". 

This is the brotherhood I am playing due to the sheer amount of Vehicles in my collection.

According to the WarComm article each Brotherhood is getting "signature Stratagems, psychic powers, and Warlord Traits. These subfaction psychic powers are taken in addition to the powers they already know, empowering your Psykers without taking anything away."

So with that in mind, I like this rule for the 1st Brotherhood but at the same time I don't. Im gonna be throwing some High Strength weapons on my vehicles already plus 1 to wound is Ok. At least it is 18 inches for the psyker and not 12 like the other ones. 

So expect more Grey Knight Articles this week.

Legio Gryphonicus- The War Griffons

 War for the Just!

 Legio Gryponicus is one of the many Legios that have fought with the Imperial Fists. 

Legio Gryphonicus  aka The War Griffons, have fought at Terra, both Tallarn wars, and is still in service in modern 40k .

Plus something about the grey and Yellow armor is sexy.

My Gryphonicus will be be focused on the Tallarn War with Desert Bases and destroyed/ abadoned buildings and the occassional Imperial Fist, model on the bases.

I have a terrain ordered along with a Frontline gaming mat. I have theGround Assets from the core box, and Aeronautic Imperialis, Civitas Mechanicus and some Civitas Imperialis buildings I wont destroy.  I will basing using tile grout and mounting the buildings and terrain pieces to vinyl adhesive tile.

I did order name plates and arms from BattleBling. 

I think I may try to build a custom desert table at some point.
