Manic Monday # 78

 

Not a rough day.....but a rough few weeks. 

Back on August 1st, I vowed the following models:

Librarian #3 and 5 Paladins (from the 10 man squad). Well everything went sideways and I was not able to paint until this weekend.  

Got the tabards and heads done, started one the weapon hafts on the Paladins but did not take a picture.

Librarian #3 I was able to complete yesterday.

Maniac Monday # 19 on a Tuesday ...part 2 Primer time

 

With all the work I accomplished Wednesday and Thursday, I figured I'd try to build a Stormtalon in @ 1 hr, before I left for my errands Friday Morning.......Forgot that I had to paint the Stormtalon Cockpit first..... but Cockpit is built, pilot is built so its ready for the priming pile. Some models were previously primed but after basing them I went for the reprime them attitude.

After my errands, I began Priming the models I had planned too:

So I started with Choas Black Spray on all Inquistorial Section but the Greyfax Conversion and Grey Knights with them getting coat of Leadbelcher, Stormtalon Interior was done in wraithbone.

After that the GF and I sat down to watch Law & Order SVU on Hulu and I removed all the extra parts off the Terminator Sprues and put them in the parts bins. I still have enough parts to make a few more Terminators plus 2 more boxes of 5 which will be 3rd terminator squad and 3rd paladin Squad. Debating building a "Paladin" Brother Captain.

Maniac Monday # 19- Huge update..... part 1 Wednesday and Thursday's projects

 So I was super busy in the modeling world this weekend. So much that I have decided to break it down into 3 posts.

So I spent Wednesday and Thursday, adding shields to all the Terminators and Paladins, drilling out  stormbolter barrels, adding grenades, pouches,Tabards, chains and Crux terminatus to the 2nd Paladin Squad, green stuffing purity seals and adding skulls, skeletons, bricks, I beams, pipe, greenstuff rubble, to bases with the plan of priming them of Friday.

One this was all accomplished I called it a night. 

Manic Monday #16- Grey Knight Paladins

     Well another weekend has come and gone. Worked 5 (2 were 9 hour shifts the other 3 were 12 hrs) days instead of my normal 3 12 hr shifts, then painting the interior of the house over the weekend, cooking dinner on the pellet grill,  and some grocery shopping...very busy. I did manage to get some modeling done.

    Of late I have been focused on my Grey Knights more. I think its cause I want to build the 3 Land Raiders and Storm Raven for them. I still have 18 more terminators to build plus 20 plus strike marines (some will be used as vehicle crew tho. I need one more Dreadknight so I can run 2 and a Grand Master in Dreadknight Armor.  And need to build another 2 razorbacks, one of which will be converted in a Recovery Razorback for the Techmarine. Lots of stuff planned. 

    I purchased some 36 gauge Aluminum Foil from Amazon to make purity Seals, long Parchment, and tabards as I was unhappy with my green stuff ones.  So Wednesday night I mocked up one of my Paladins. 

Content with the look I dawned on me that the Paladins need to stand out more then that an need more bling.

Like the tabard bit in the box I decided to add chain in front of their tabards. So I grabbed my chain, and started gathering all the bits up Stormbolters, psycannons, tilt shields, back banners. grenades, pouches etc.

All that is left is adding debris to their bases and Green stuff wax seals.

Then I built a fourth Librarian out of Lexicarnum Valus model. I switched his Right shoulder pad, left arm and pad, and added Grey Knight bits to him. 

And to end the night I started cleaning the shields and Storm bolters for the regular Terminator squad.

I have returned......again part 2

So its been a crazy ride of late......sudden loss of my Best Friend and Paintball teammate in November, Loss of my GF dad, in January, loss of my GF 's best friend at work later in January, Covid 19, lockdown, Being an essential employee,  Riots, and Tiger King.....2020 is definitely a sucky year....

To help put stop to some of the personal craziness, my GF suggested I work on models as a stress reliever.

I took a look at the collection of models I had and decided to work on the army that would be the easiest to work on. My Grey Knights. Now I've been working on them on and off for a a while now but never was happy with them. The pile of primed and un primed plastic contained a custom Brotherhood champion, a techmarine, Mk IV Venerable Dreadnought, 3 strike squads, Purgation Squad, Ancient, 2 lascannon razorbacks and a Librarian. Grabbing my models, brushes, and paints off I went.

So I was just painting my small force for Kill Team initially but then I saw the changes in Psychic
Awakening: Ritual of the Damned and how they turned the Grey Knights into a fierce force plus the Inquisitor rules from White Dwarf. It was time to work on them more than just kill team.

I have since added to the army Brother Captain Conversion, 2 Dreadknight Chassis (one for my Grand Master) , a couple of Voldus models for the Grand Master on foot and in Dreadknight, dug up the other unbuilt pile of Grey Knight Terminators/ Paladins and Strike/ Inceptors/ Purgation/ Purifers I have along with a few vehicles and servitors. I decided on the 7th Brotherhood as they are the Inquisitorial Representatives

Along with participating in the Local Warhammer Store- #Finished Fridays and Bolter and Chainswords Lockdown challenge I was able to get a few models completed.......and 9th Edition was announced.....

The Crusade announcement actually made my gaming group excited for a new edition plus all the changes we are hearing coming out.  so I have my 500pt Crusade force almost painted:

On the work bench....

So with the new dex out  I've been working on some new stuff for my Crimson Fists.

Start of Pedro's Honour Guard. All in MKIII aromour using Imperial Fists heads and Torsos. Banner is from the CF anniversary model. The model with the Crest will be the Chapter Champion. Eventually this wil be a 9 man squad.

 
Here is my MK III Chaplain....I think he will become an Honour guard instead and redo him in MK IV armour.
