Manic Monday # 84

Sneaky Sneaky

Same old broken record....too much work, house under construction, not time to paint blah blah blah

UPS is being difficult. Trying to Get my FW package and it is signature required, so signed slip to get package.....they pick up slip and leave black slip. WTF

Tortuga stuff arrived and well I got 1 MK3 tabard set instead of 2nd running legs....Entropmancer  will like those.

Thanks to Hurricane Ian, my Etsy Shoulder pads are in Florida still.

Decals, Librarian, back packs and shoulder pads  arrived.

Saturday I saw most of the Metal Head Armory crew at a Local GS. Entropmancer and I traded bits (yes more MK 6 Helms!), half my Heavy Weapons for half the Support weapons, parts for my Chaplain, and purchased my Heavy Bolters and Missile Launchers.

Sunday it was announced that the Land Raider Proteus was going on Presale Saturday.......WOOT WOOT. Since I only play inside the group I think I'm not going to build the assault ramp version as it looks less pleasing.....

Old hotness

Ugly Newness

Still need Sicaran #2 and Plastic Contemptor #2 also.

What I built this weekend:

I added magnets to all my bases (40 32mm, 1 40mm, 1 60mm base and Storm Eagle's base)

So needing the instructions to build MK VI marines into Heavy Weapons (arms matching to bodies) I went ahead and built my 5 Autocannon and 5 Lascannon Heavy Weapon Marines.

Autocannons

Lascannons

After getting my half of the support weapon blister, I started building my Support Squad Rotor Cannon guys..

...only got partially through one model cause I needed to work on these guys. (I can probably sneak the Support Squad into work and build them there next weekend).

One of my favorite (non Legion Specific) Units are Seeker squads. I feel like they are the character hunters of Legions.....And I had to have a full 10 man Squad of them (plus a Proteus)

SGT!

Still waiting on their heads......UPS

but here is this weeks build log.

Land Raiders

So one of the most iconic tanks of the 41st Millennium is the Land Raider. And after the short story about The Crimson's Fists Land Raider Rynn's Might, White Dwarf Article in 3rd edition I fell in love with them.

From the Warhammer 40k Wiki:

Rynn's Might
 - Rynn's Might is a Land Raider Phobos of the Crimson Fists Space Marine Chapter, after surviving a rouge missile that destroyed the Chapter's Fortress-Monastery the Machine Spirit of this vehicle waged a solo war against the Orks that attacked the Crimson Fists' homeworld of Rynn's World, even though the tank did not survive the battle it managed to kill the Ork Warboss and many of his followers in a single night, this act remains a testament to the awesome power of the Land Raider and its Machine Spirit.

Through the years I always try to attach Land Raiders to armies and outside of my Space Wolves I never really used them that often. In the current Adeptus Astartes meta Primaris and my personal favorite unit Scouts can not be transported in them so they are being shelved by most players.

My Grey Knights have intentions on using them.

Vortimer Pattern

Crusader Pattern

Mk IIb

Phobos Pattern

I purchased a Forgeworld Vortimer Land Raider a while back when I was planning a Grey Knights army.  it. I just checked my FW account and it was before 01/21/2016.....so yeah I've been sitting on this kit for a few years

And I have 2 Deathwatch Land Raider kits I purchased when they were released. And were the best deal for Land Raiders as it was the Phobos/ Crusader/ Redeemer in one box.

During Covid last year I decided I was going to buy one of the two Land Raiders on my list of Land Raiders from Forge World I wanted:

Mk IIb

Prometheus

Knowing the Mk IIb is just a standard Land Raider I choose that as I could not field a Prometheus in Grey Knights.

To make my Mk IIb unique and a Relic I headed over to Blood and Skulls and purchased this for it.

plus a course I found Aquilas to add to the track.

With 4 Land Raiders I feel Like I need a Fifth. But we will see after I do inventory on them this weekend. My ultimate goal is to have the 2 deathwatch ones magnetized to be all 3 variants and have the Mk IIB for Purifiers.
